Giving Circles

It’s an unforgettable experience and a unique way to support wild birds in need.

$1,000 – Pelican Partner

Donors of $1,000 will have the chance to tour one of our California centers and help to release one of our seabird patients back into the wild. This experience offers supporters a special opportunity to see a bird getting its final medical exam (depending on Covid-19 protocols) and numbered leg band, and the once-in-a-lifetime honor of opening the cage at the release site as your partner bird takes its first steps into the open and soars away.

$5,000 – Albatross Alliance

Members of International Bird Rescue’s Albatross Alliance are guardians of all birds in need. In addition to knowing that they are making a significant and life-saving gift, Alliance members will have the chance to tour one of our California centers and help to release a mixed flock of bird patients back into the wild! This experience offers supporters a special opportunity to see birds getting their final medical exam and numbered leg bands, and the once-in-a-lifetime honor of opening the cages at the release site as your partner birds take their first steps into the open and soar away!

$10,000 – Shoebill Society

Since 1971, we have been delivering excellence in the area of oil spill response and seabird rehabilitation. As we look toward an expanded role in conservation and intervention, The Shoebill Society is a select group of key supporters who pledge to partner with us in developing a better future for the birds that swim, dive, and wade in our global waters. Your annual donation of $10,000 or more allows us to build forward-thinking programs and to bring the full strength of our experience to some of the world’s biggest wildlife challenges, such as marine debris and climate change.

Partner Testimonial

“…Today was the most wonderful experience, starting with [outreach coordinator] Cheryl giving my daughter and me a tour and showing us where the birds are treated and housed for intensive care, and the aviary with the gulls and pelicans rehabilitating. Then the banding of the young pelican, loading all 11 of them into the van for the drive to Ft. Baker, and finally the release.

Opening the cages and watching their hesitation, and finally witnessing them heading for the water, swimming and flying free: It was the most beautiful, heartwarming and wonderful experience. Thank you to Bird Rescue for your wonderful work.”
