Dr. Paul Krause is a Principal with Ramboll and is located in Los Angeles, California. He received his BS in marine biology and MS in biology from California State University, Long Beach and his Doctoral degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has over 30 years of experience in the fields of marine and aquatic ecology, toxicology, environmental impact analysis, environmental risk assessment, modeling, and regulatory permitting and negotiation as an academic researcher and professional environmental consultant.
Dr. Krause is an internationally recognized expert in marine ecology and toxicology. He specializes in issues relating to the impacts of large-scale developments worldwide. Dr. Krause has developed and led large organization incident management and spill response teams and has responded to many spills from those of National Significance, to regional spills. His particular expertise revolves around developing sustainable solutions for ecological issues related to new development and decommissioning in the marine environment. This includes, sediment assessments, underwater noise, artificial reef development, rigs-to-reefs, and restoration.
Dr. Krause has worked closely with industry specialists, regulatory agencies, and non-governmental organizations to help secure beneficial project developments. Additionally, Dr. Krause has managed large ecological evaluations throughout the western United States including Alaska and Hawaii, the Gulf of Mexico, the Pacific Islands, Gulf of Thailand, Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, and West Africa.
