Home | Look Up & Take Action Challenge

Nature heals. Return the favor by helping to heal nature. Small actions add up to a safer natural world for wildlife. Participation is simple, even if you only have a few minutes. Join us by doing whatever you can from wherever you are.

Challenge 1

October 2-8: Reconnect with Nature #LookUp

Brown Pelican. Photo by Alan Murphy

The first part of our challenge is easy and fun, just go outside and look up. It could be a park, a beach, your front yard, whatever place makes you feel connected to nature.

Send photos of you or what you see in your favorite natural space. Submit here: photos@birdrescue.org

At the end of the month, one lucky individual will be selected at random to receive a Bird Rescue 50th Hat or T-Shirt.  Everyone who submits will also receive a discount code for 10% off in our merchandise store during the month of October 2021.

Challenge 2

October 9-15: Leave it Better Than You Found It #Trashtag

Share a picture of something you did to help take care of the natural environment. Disposing of discarded fishing line, picking up trash on your morning walk, or helping injured wildlife get to a rescue.

Two ways to submit

  1. Share your photo publicly on your social media, tag us and use #Trashtag
  2. or send your photo to photos@birdrescue.org

At the end of the month, we will share our favorite photos and one entry will be selected at random to receive a coveted copy of the hit board game Wingspan!

Challenge 3

October 16-22: Take Action At Home

Follow us on social media to learn simple ways that you can take action in your own home to live more sustainably. Make a comment on how you plan to take that action and tag a friend to challenge them to do it too, and you could be selected to receive a Bird Rescue Eco-friendly gift!

At the end of the month, we will select an individual to receive an eco-friendly bird rescue product – like a reusable tote bag, metal straw, or hand soap!

• Also this month, Bird Rescue invites you to celebrate two significant occasions in the birding world, October Big Day and International Migratory Bird Day, both on October 9, 2021.
