If you built it, they will come, is never more evident than with a newly constructed shorebird enclosure at our Los Angeles Wildlife Center.
Designed to support the diverse habitats waterbirds need for recovery, it immediately came in handy when a rescued Virginia Rail became the first patient to use it. This is important addition to International Bird Rescue’s efforts– providing space with special accommodations to prevent the spread of dangerous bird flu (avian influenza), ensuring a safe environment for all our patients
This addition was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. A big thanks also goes to our to Facilities and Safety Coordinators Shayne Hare and Dan Vega, who designed and built the structure.
