Looks like Bird Rescue has just turned into a day care, with 13 Western Snowy Plover chicks keeping everyone on their toes! These little ones arrived as eggs after they were moved from a potentially hazardous area. Watch these chicks, who are only one to three days old, as they curiously roam the incubator in this heartwarming YouTube video. Soon they will graduate to the shorebird box, where you could watch them grow on our live BirdCam.
As we celebrate these hatchlings taking their first steps, we’re also rejoicing over three of the oldest plover chicks who hatched last month and stepped into the wild this past week. This important conservation work wouldn’t be possible without your help.
