Dr. Emma Winstead is the Associate Veterinarian at the International Bird Rescue’s SF Bay-Delta wildlife center. She fell in love with wildlife medicine as a rehabilitation volunteer over 15 years ago. She went on to earn her DVM from Tufts University in 2019, and has since advanced her training with a specialty internship in wildlife and conservation medicine at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Her experience spans domestic species, marine mammals, and native wildlife. While she loves caring for IBR patients in the clinic, she is also passionate about knowledge-sharing to advance patient care and protect our shared ecosystems.
