Jennifer Martines first joined Bird Rescue as an intern, she was then hired as a full-time staff member during the 2019 Kimberly Flamingo event in South Africa. Since then she has participated in many emergency responses, including the 2021 Elegant Tern Long Beach Harbor event, 2022 and 2024 California Brown Pelican crashes, the 2022 Orange County Pipeline P00547 oil spill, and the 2023 Tulare Botulism Event.
She received her B.S from Cal Poly Humboldt in wildlife biology and zoology, where she studied urban ecology and became passionate about preserving wildlife in urban spaces.
