Favorite bird: Mountain Chickadee
Grants Coordinator Phil Kohlmetz is a registered Fundraising Counsel with the State of California. He has been with International Bird Rescue since 2017, having spent his entire 35+ year career working to strengthen not-for-profit, public benefit organizations, most notably as Executive Director of the Napa Valley Museum, Development Director of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, and as a long-time Board Member and Past President of the California Association of Museums. He was awarded a Public Leadership Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education in 2021. As an active member of the Sierra Peaks Section of the Sierra Club, Phil leads local hike outings and teaches Leave No Trace principles. It’s no surprise that his favorite bird is the Mountain Chickadee.
